Wilcannia COVID-19 Pop Up Screening and Testing Clinic
The Far West Local Health District, Royal Flying Doctors Service, Aboriginal Affairs, Central Darling Shire and the Aboriginal Community Working Parties have been working together to develop pop up COVID-19 screening and testing clinics across the Central Darling communities.
The first Clinic will be held in Wilcannia on Tuesday 26 May 2020 at the Wilcannia Community Centre from 10:30am to 2pm.
Any community members wanting information and screening are invited to attend the COVID-19 clinic. All community members with any symptoms will be offered COVID-19 testing.
The organisations involved acknowledge and are grateful for the assistance from Monica Kerwin, Chair of the Aboriginal Community Working Party and the staff of Aboriginal Affairs for their support in planning the Wilcannia COVID-19 clinic. We would also like to acknowledge and thank all community members assisting us to run the pop up COVID-19 Clinic in Wilcannia.
Wilcannia's clinic is the first pop up COVID-19 clinic to be held across the Central Darling Shire and further work is underway on developing clinics in Menindee and Ivanhoe. We plan to work with each community's Aboriginal Working Party to design a pop up COVID-19 Clinic in their towns.
