International Association for Forensic Psychotherapy (IAFP) Conference hosted by Justice Health NSW
In May 2025, Justice Health NSW hosted the 33rd annual International Association for Forensic Psychotherapy (IAFP) Conference in Sydney’s east.
It was the first time the conference had ever been held in the southern hemisphere, bringing together representatives virtually and in-person from across Australia and overseas in the fields of counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and social work.
The conference included discussions around the topic of ‘Locating the disturbance in violent offending: self, system society?’ exploring personalist disorder, trauma and offending.
The conference featured expert keynote speakers including Professor Anthony Bateman, Professor Gwen Adshead and Professor Brin Grenyer, who all covered state of the art research.
The conference was a great success and proved insightful for all those that attended the comprehensive program.
