The Bega community came together at Bega High School on 17 July for the Aboriginal Land Council Family Day, celebrating NAIDOC Week.
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) was there with information about getting ready for emergencies. These included making a plan, packing an emergency kit and staying up to date with warnings.
The team also asked residents what information helps them prepare for emergencies. The RA will use this feedback to improve how it shares information with communities.
The event also gave the RA a chance to meet local groups and talk about helping vulnerable people during emergencies.
It was a great day of community, culture and connection, and the RA thanks everyone who stopped by to say hello.
