Creating a new Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW)
How the Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) form works
The CCEW form in BCNSW eCert supports a wide range of job types.
The form must be completed by the licensed electrician responsible for the work.
Some questions in the form may not apply to your work. You should only complete the sections that apply to the work you are certifying in the CCEW.
Compliance and legal responsibilities
When signing up to BCNSW eCert, you agree to the terms and conditions, including that all information you provide in the portal is true and accurate. This includes your licence details.
Information provided in the CCEW form is reviewed and used by Building Commission NSW for compliance and regulatory purposes.
After the certificate has been submitted
Once the CCEW form has been submitted in the portal, a PDF copy of the certificate is automatically emailed to you.
A copy is also emailed to the customer if their email address has been included form.
The certificate is also recorded by Building Commission NSW.
You’ll be able to access and manage all your submitted certificates within your BCNSW eCert account.
How electricians start a new certificate
Log into the BCNSW eCert portal
On the BCNSW eCert portal home page, you'll see tiles for all certificate types available. You must only submit certificates for work you are licensed to perform.
Select the electrical work tile

Confirm new work or rectification of work
Select whether the certificate is for new work or the rectification of work outlined in a written direction notice (WDN).
Press Continue to proceed to the installation details page.
