Entering customer and site details for new electrical work
Information you'll need to provide
Customer details
You can enter customer details in the CCEW, including:
- individual name or company name
- email address
- phone number
A copy of the certificate is emailed to the customer if their email address has been included in the form.
If the end customer is not yet known, you can enter the email address of the person the work is for.
If the customer does not have an email address, you may use a trusted third party’s email. You must have the customer’s permission to do this.
Providing a copy of the CCEW to the customer is required by law. For more information on who must be provided a copy of the CCEW, see the Electrical compliance requirements page.

Site details
Enter the site address where the electrical work was carried out using address search to select a matching address. If no match appears, select enter address manually and complete the required fields.
Adding the site address
Using the address search ensures your site address is saved in the correct format. However, sometimes an address may not appear in the search so it will need to be entered manually.
If no match appears in the address search drop-down list, select the enter address manually option.
- Enter the required fields, including street name, suburb and postcode. All required fields must be completed.
- Add extra details if needed (e.g. lot, plan type, plan number, section, unit, apartment, street number or local government area.)
- Check the details are correct, then select Save and continue to confirm.
