Entering test details for new electrical work
Assigning the testing to another licensed electrician
You'll need to provide the details of the electrician who will conduct the testing. The electrician must hold a current electrician's licence and be registered in BCNSW eCert.
They will receive an email notification that testing has been assigned to them. The email will be sent from donotreply_BCNSW@customerservice.nsw.gov.au.
Entering the tester's details
Enter the tester electrician's licence number, the system will search for a matching record.

Select the electrician from the search results.
Only electricians who hold a current electrician’s licence and are registered in BCNSW eCert can be assigned to carry out the testing.

If the electrician does not appear in the search results, they will need to register in BCNSW eCert before you can assign them.

Conducting the test yourself
Provide the following details if you selected No.
Entering the test completion date
Testing must be completed before submitting the CCEW. Enter the date the testing was completed. You can select the current date but not a future date.
Entering the National Meter Identifier (NMI)
Provide the NMI if it is available and applicable to the installation.
Selecting the tests completed
The list includes tests across different job types, so some options may not apply. Select all tests that apply to the work carried out.
Selecting the network provider
Identify the network provider for the installation site. Select N/A if this is not applicable to you.
Providing electrical contractor details
Indicate whether the work was carried out for an electrical contractor. If you selected Yes, provide the contractor's name and licence number.
Uploading supporting documents
Attach any documents relating to the job. These documents are used for compliance review purposes by the Building Commission NSW. Any documents uploaded here are not sent to the customer as part of the CCEW.
You may want to attach:
- test results
- switchboard diagrams
- photos or videos of the work
Do not attach:
- manuals
- fire certificates
- electricity bills
- test schedules
Once uploaded, the files will appear on the screen. You can upload files up to 100MB per file.
