Creating a new Certificate of Compliance
How the Certificate of Compliance form works
The Certificate of Compliance form in BCNSW eCert supports a wide range of medical gas work. To create a Certificate of Compliance for gas work, both the medical gasfitter and gas technician will need to complete tasks in the portal.
Tasks for the gasfitter
- Start the Certificate of Compliance in BCNSW eCert.
- Enter the required job details.
- Assign the certificate to the responsible medical gas technician.
Tasks for the technician
- Once assigned, enter the required testing and commissioning information for the certificate
- Review and submit the Certificate of Compliance.
Compliance and regulation requirements
When signing up to BCNSW eCert, you agree to the terms and conditions, including that all information you provide in the portal is true and accurate. This includes your licence details.
Information you submit is reviewed and used by Building Commission NSW for compliance and regulatory purposes.
After the form has been submitted
Once the form has been submitted in the portal, a PDF copy of the certificate is automatically emailed to you and the property or vehicle owner. The certificate is also recorded by Building Commission NSW.
You'll be able to access and manage all your submitted certificates within your BCNSW eCert account.
How medical gasfitters start a new certificate
Log into the BCNSW eCert portal
On the BCNSW eCert portal home page, you'll see tiles for all certificate types available. You must only submit certificates for work you are licensed to perform.
Select the medical gases tile

Review the displayed certificate information
If this is the correct certificate, select Continue to proceed to the Facility details page.
