Allocation zone locator

How to choose an allocation zone in your application for housing assistance.

How to use this allocation zone locator

When you apply for social housing, you are asked to choose an allocation zone you would prefer to live in. An allocation zone is a group of suburbs or towns where social housing is available. There are approximately 250 allocation zones across NSW.

If you are eligible for social housing and are listed on the NSW Housing Register, you can be offered housing in any suburb or town within your selected allocation zone.

In some allocation zones and some towns or suburbs within an allocation zone, social housing is managed by community housing providers only. This means if you select an allocation zone managed by only community housing providers, you must also select community housing or all social housing on your application and your tenancy will be managed by a participating community housing provider, not Homes NSW.

To find which allocation zone your suburb or town is in, enter only the suburb, town, or postcode in the search box below and select "Search".

Enter a suburb, for example: Eastwood, Blacktown or North Sydney
