You may be approved for social housing as an elderly client if you meet the eligibility criteria and are confirmed to be an Aboriginal person and or Torres Strait Islander aged 55 years and over.
Eligibility
If you’re seeking housing as an elderly client, you must provide proof of age by producing a:

You must also provide documents that meet the AHO Eligibility for Services policy.
You will have to show that you are able to meet the obligations of your tenancy, with or without support.
Priority assistance
As an elderly client, you will go on the NSW Housing Register and offered suitable accommodation ahead of wait-turn applicants as it becomes available.
Where there are other household members included on your application (other than your partner), or as an elderly client you are part of an application with other family members, you will be eligible for this assistance if:
- you are totally dependent on the other members of the household for 24 hour care, and
- you provide documentation from a doctor or other healthcare professionals to support the application.
