Client service visits in public housing - online or virtual
Our staff or maintenance contractors may visit your home during your public housing tenancy.
In person visits
We are required to visit your home at least once a year. During this visit we will:
- Address any issues you may have such as maintenance problems, neighbour concerns, rent difficulties or property care.
- Check if you need support to live independently, or connect you with services to help maintain your tenancy.
- Confirm who is living at the property and that the correct amount of rent is being paid.
Our staff and maintenance contractors will follow NSW Health’s and Safety Standards when visiting your home.
Virtual visits
We also offer virtual visits using Facetime or WhatsApp.
During the call we’ll ask you to show us your home just like an in person visit. This includes the yard, garage or shed. You can also raise any issues with your Client Service Officer.
We don’t record or take screenshots during the video call. However, we may ask you to send us a picture to address property care and maintenance issues.
These visits must happen at least once a year. If we can’t access the property after 3 attempts, we may seek an access order from the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal to get access.
