Briner Bridge restoration work

Topic: Transport

Roads and Maritime Services is seeking feedback on the Review of Environmental Factors (REF) to determine environmental and social impacts of the Briner Bridge restoration work.

Briner Bridge

What's this about?

The NSW Government is planning major restoration work on Briner Bridge, near Tucabia. The work will increase the bridge’s load capacity to 42.5 tonnes and reduce maintenance requirements while retaining the heritage significance of the truss span.

While work is undertaken on the existing bridge, it is proposed a temporary bridge is built immediately upstream of Briner Bridge. This will allow traffic to cross the river and provide a safe site for our workers.

Feedback will be considered and a submissions report published early 2019. Once the project is approved, Roads and Maritime Services will complete the design and prepare for construction, subject to funding.
