What's this about?

The Department of Defence is proposing to remove waste created by previous military operations (ordnance) in the park.

The exploded ordnance will be processed by incineration in the park before removal to a waste management facility. The project is expected to take three to six months to complete.

NPWS will be determining the works as an activity under Part 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

Permission to start the works will be granted by NPWS under Clause 31 of the National Parks and Wildlife Regulation 2009 and/or s151 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 subject to any conditions imposed under the Review of Environmental Factors Determination.
