Cabarita Wharf Interchange upgrade

Transport for NSW invites Aboriginal people and Aboriginal groups to register their interest to be consulted on the Cabarita Wharf Interchange upgrade.

Cabarita Wharf

What's this about?

Transport for NSW proposes to upgrade the existing wharf, providing a new pontoon and gangway which will allow two ferries to access the wharf at the same time.

The bus turning circle will be altered to improve operations, and a new kiss-and-ride zone will be installed close to the wharf entrance.

The existing car park will be extended to add additional parking spaces and a turning circle.

The proposal may result in Transport for NSW:

  • applying for an Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit (AHIP) under Part 6 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974
  • undertaking investigations in accordance with the code of practice for archaeological investigations in NSW 2010
  • undertaking an environmental impact assessment under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.

Aboriginal people and Aboriginal groups who hold cultural knowledge relevant to determining the significance of Aboriginal objects and places are invited to register their interest to be consulted on the Cabarita Wharf Interchange upgrade.
