Disability Inclusion Act 2014 review

Topic: Regulation

The NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking feedback on the Statutory Review of the Disability Inclusion Act 2014.

What's this about?

The NSW Department of Communities and Justice is reviewing the Disability Inclusion Act 2014 to make sure that it has achieved what it set out to do.

The review will also look at what needs to be changed to bring it up to date. The Act promotes the inclusion and participation of people with disability in the community in many ways.

The Act currently:

  • requires the development of a State Disability Plan
  • requires government bodies to prepare disability inclusion action plans
  • helps the Disability Council NSW to advise the minister on matters affecting people with disability.

The NSW Department of Communities and Justice is reviewing the Act on behalf of the Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services, Gareth Ward.
