The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment is seeking feedback on the proposed amendments to Water Sharing Plan for the Gwydir Unregulated and Alluvial Water Sources 2012 to facilitate active management.

What's this about?

The proposed amendments to the Water Sharing Plan for the Gwydir Unregulated and Alluvial Water Sources 2012 to protect environmental water used in-stream, is currently on exhibition.

An increased level of management, called active management, is proposed to manage environmental water used in-stream for environmental purposes.

The proposed changes apply to the Gingham Creek Watercourse and the Mallowa Creek.

  • Active Management in Unregulated Rivers – Draft policy for public consultation, September 2019.

The draft policy will guide the development of procedure manuals that will outline how active management is implemented.
