What’s this about?

IPART is reviewing the prices that Sydney Water and Hunter Water can charge customers for water, wastewater and stormwater services. They are also looking at what WaterNSW can charge for its bulk water services across Greater Sydney.

Each utility submitted a pricing proposal to IPART on 1 July 2019.

Sydney Water and WaterNSW’s proposed prices would see no bill increase over four years due to lower interest rates. Their proposed expenditure could see bill increases in the future.

Hunter Water’s proposed prices would see an average household bill increase by 25% and an average apartment bill increase by 35%, over the next five years.

Over the next nine months, IPART will analyse each proposal in detail and consult with the community on the utilities’ proposed expenditure and prices.
