NCAT Statutory Review

Topic: Police & Justice

The Department of Justice is seeking feedback on the operation of the Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 2013.

What’s this about?

In January 2014, the NSW Government consolidated 22 tribunals into one new body – the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT).

NCAT has broad powers to deal with a wide range of civil disputes. This includes tenancy and strata, administrative review of government decisions, discrimination, guardianship, and professional disciplinary matters.

The Department of Justice is seeking feedback on how well NCAT is working and to look at reforms that could strengthen access to justice for people in NSW.
