New bridge over the Macquarie River
What's this about?
The NSW Government is investing in a new bridge over the Macquarie River in Dubbo.
The new bridge will:
- improve freight efficiency
- improve flood immunity for the Newell Highway and local traffic
- reduce congestion within Dubbo.
The project involves building a third high level river crossing in Dubbo. The River Street option is the preferred option.
The River Street option would continue from Thompson Street, near the Newell Highway, along a new road and follow the western river bank travelling north. It would then cross the river to connect to the Newell Highway near River Street in north Dubbo.
