What's this about?

The NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) runs a cattle tick program to

  • prevent cattle tick entering NSW
  • detect and eradicate infestations wherever they are found.

The program employs a workforce of 47 employees who are primarily located in Northern NSW with an operational budget of $4.2 million per annum.

The cattle tick program has been identified by NSW Treasury as a priority for review, to ensure it is achieving its intended outcomes and providing a net benefit to NSW.

DPI has engaged GHD Pty Ltd to undertake an independent review of the program.
