Parkes SAP Draft Master Plan

Topic: Planning

The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment is seeking feedback on statewide planning controls for Special Activation Precincts (SAPs), as well as the first SAP draft master plan, which is tailored to the unique attributes and needs of Parkes NSW.

What's this about?

SAPs are unique to regional NSW. They bring together planning and investment to focus on growing jobs and economic activity in an area. Precincts will support industries in line with the competitive advantages and economic strengths of each area.

The NSW Government is delivering SAPs as part of the $4.2 billion Snowy Hydro Legacy Fund.

The master planning process for Parkes involves a community consultation. It will also include a series of technical studies to understand the ecology, heritage, social and economic considerations to help inform the draft master plan for the Parkes SAP.

After the exhibition period, submissions will be considered and a final master plan will be delivered.
