NSW Treasury is seeking feedback on how to improve the administration of payroll tax in NSW.

What's this about? 

The review is considering the objectives for payroll tax administration and the effectiveness of current Revenue NSW practices in administering the legislation. It will examine any administrative arrangements that are required to comply with the legislation. Payroll rates and threshold are outside the scope of this review.

The review will have regard to the NSW Government’s commitment to the maintenance of harmonisation of payroll tax administration across Australia, because of the administrative benefits to employers who employ staff in multiple states and territories.

The review may identify further areas of harmonisation and have regard to the arrangements of other jurisdictions.
