Rail Trail Community Consultation
What's this about?
The objective of this workshop is to gain a sense of community sentiment about the closure of the rail corridor. The workshop will also provide information on a proposed rail trail program, inform the local community on legislative requirements and respond to local questions and concerns.
Rail Trails provide for new economic opportunities from disused rail corridors and delivers recreation options for local communities and visitors to the area. The NSW Government supports the development of rail trails where communities are supportive.
The two consultation workshops being held in December 2017, in Guyra and Tenterfield, are the beginning of an ongoing consultation process that this project will undertake with local stakeholders on future developments on the rail corridor, including biosecurity and other risk mitigation strategies.
