Rawsonville Bridge maintenance
What's this about?
Roads and Maritime Services has been carrying out maintenance on Rawsonville Bridge, west of Dubbo for the past six months.
The bridge was built in 1916 and some parts of the bridge are in poor condition.
Inspections have found that the bridge pier foundations have deteriorated and two piers are required to be replaced to ensure the safe ongoing operation of the bridge.
To carry out the work safely it is being proposed to close the bridge for up to six months. The pier replacement work is proposed to be carried out in late 2019.
During the closure, traffic would be diverted via Burraway Road which could add up to 20 minutes to a journey.
