Breath Testing Young People

Use this procedure when centre routines require random breath testing of detainees, a detainee is suspected of consuming alcohol, or a detainee has been directed to undergo a breath test.

Any registered reading above 0.000 will be deemed a positive result.

The steps to be taken by staff depend on the role of the staff member. These roles include: Unit Manager, Assistant Unit Manager, Shift Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Duty Manager, Alcohol and Other drugs Counsellor, Psychologist, admissions staff, and all staff.
