An induction is an important process for young people. It provides an introduction to the centre and helps a young person understand what to expect whilst in custody. Research shows that young people respond better to rehabilitative programs when they believe employees are interested and supportive.
The steps to be taken by staff depend on the role of the staff member. These roles include: Unit Manager, Assistant Unit Manager, Shift Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Duty Manager, admissions staff, and all staff.
