The Behaviour Assistance Pathway has replaced the DRMP and becomes the primary resource for addressing a young person’s high-risk behaviours in a YJNSW custodial setting.
The purpose of the Behaviour Assistance Pathway Manual is to:
- provide Youth Justice Centres with a comprehensive resource that assists Youth Justice employees to fulfil their role responsibilities, specifically promoting safety standards in line with operational and legislative requirements
- respond to the safety needs of a young person where they are unable to be supported through mainstream routines, the Incentive Scheme, EPIC Scheme, Case Management or the misbehaviour process
- promote a cohesive and inclusive approach to addressing young people’s display of high-risk behaviours
- promote adherence to the principles and standards outlined in this manual
