Food Provisions in Youth Justice Centres Manual

This manual provides policy information and procedural steps to YJNSW employees to understand their responsibilities and accountability in relation to the provision of food in YJCs.

The objectives of this manual are to:

• provide a menu planning tool to support YJNSW Centres in the provision of meals that are consistent with the ADG.
• identify a framework for young people to provide input on meal options and feedback on food quality in Centres.
• support Centres to change menus in accordance with the ADG.
• create appropriate timelines for ongoing reviews for the food provided in Centres
• encourage collaboration among kitchen employees across different Centres
