You need to have confirmation of your place at a primary school before applying for any before or after school care (BASC) options
BASC operates in more than 750 public schools in NSW. Additional services are provided at off-site facilities close to schools.
They provide a mix of before and after school hours care as well as on-site holiday care for students.
You can also check the school’s website for more detailed information about:
- what type of care is provided
- where the care centre is located as it may not be on the school grounds
- its operating hours
Eligible families can get help with the cost of BASC through the Before and After School Care voucher program.
In addition to BASC services, the NSW Government is progressively opening Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) hubs across several regions. These will operate on-site in areas of greatest need.
