Grants now open to support NAIDOC celebrations across NSW
Aboriginal groups and community organisations across NSW are invited to apply for grants to support local NAIDOC events and activities.
Aboriginal Affairs NSW is providing $500,000 to support community-driven celebrations that align with this year’s NAIDOC theme, ‘50 Years of Deadly’. Grants awarded will range between $1,000 and $5,000.
The NAIDOC Grants program supports community-driven celebrations that promote awareness and understanding of Aboriginal cultures and histories.
Events funded under the program must take place between 1 July and 31 October 2026.

Mungindi NAIDOC Week 2025
Last year, Aboriginal Affairs NSW supported 179 community-led events through its NAIDOC Grants program. These events included corroborees, public exhibitions, cultural workshops, Elders events, family fun days and art activities.
Applications for 2026 NAIDOC Grants are now open and will close on Sunday 22 March. For more information on how to apply, please visit www.nsw.gov.au/2026-naidoc-grants.
Acting Deputy Secretary of Aboriginal Affairs NSW Trish Oxford (Ngemba) said:
“Aboriginal Affairs NSW is proud to support NAIDOC events that bring communities together to share stories, showcase culture, and celebrate our resilience.”
“These NAIDOC Grants will support Aboriginal communities to celebrate and strengthen cultures right across NSW.”
“If you want to apply for a grant and you’re not sure how, I encourage you to get in touch with your local Aboriginal Affairs NSW regional team. They’ll be able to help guide you on the process of applying.”
