Croydon Public School to benefit in $4.2 billion NSW school building boom

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, Treasurer Dominic Perrottet and Minister for Education Rob Stokes visited Croydon Public School today, one of the more than 120 schools set to benefit from the NSW Government’s record $4.2 billion investment in public education.

Croydon Public School will be expanded with 20 new classrooms and upgraded facilities to accommodate the school’s growing enrolment numbers.

“I am proud to lead a government that is delivering better school facilities and modern learning environments to kids right across the state, whatever their postcode,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“The students at Croydon Public School are among the many thousands of children who will get a better education because of the 61 per cent increase in education funding that we have announced in this year’s State Budget.”

Treasurer Dominic Perrottet said this year’s Budget had a focus on helping NSW families.

“This government is not just about building road and rail, our Budget showed we are serious about social infrastructure like schools and hospitals too,” Mr Perrottet said.

Education Minister Rob Stokes said the government’s $4.2 billion investment in school infrastructure will fund more than 120 new schools or substantive upgrades to existing schools in the next four years. Another 33 projects will be completed within two years.

“The expansion of Croydon Public School is an example of how we’re delivering high-quality education facilities that students and communities need now and into the future,” Mr Stokes said.

“Our new specialist school delivery unit, School Infrastructure NSW, is working to drive a record number of school projects across the state so we can give our children the very best education they can have.”
