Future Made in Australia and critical minerals production tax credit good news for NSW

The Minns Labor Government will work hand-in-hand with our federal government colleagues to turn these opportunities into actions.

I’m excited about working with Ministers Bowen and Husic on the opportunities that the Future Made in Australia program can have for NSW.

Every job in manufacturing supports a further 3.5 jobs in the supply chain.

By building our skills base and harnessing our state’s procurement dollars we can rebuild our domestic manufacturing sector and bring those valuable jobs back to NSW.

I also look forward to working with Minister King to promote the benefits that the critical minerals mining industry can have for our clean energy future and for high-paying jobs across the state.

With globally significant resource deposits and 21 of the 31 nationally declared critical minerals, NSW is well placed to play an important role in a clean energy future built on critical minerals.

The Minns Labor Government’s updated Critical Minerals and High-Tech Metals Strategy includes a $250 million royalties deferral to help get new projects up and running, as well as a series of actions to boost local manufacturing and processing opportunities.
