Have your say on $20 billion Rebuilding NSW plan
Rebuilding NSW involves unlocking $20 billion in infrastructure funding by offering long-term leases on 49% of “poles and wires” network assets to businesses.
The government has released a discussion paper focussing on the issues and concerns about Rebuilding NSW and the proposed asset lease.
The Have Your Say consultation is the first step in a consultation process that will:
- Inform communities on the conditions for leasing the assets and the Government’s strategic priorities.
- Meet with key businesses and community groups across the state.
- Seek feedback on investment focus points and the proposed lease of the electricity networks.
NSW Premier Mike Baird described Rebuilding NSW as “a once-in-a-generation opportunity to secure the long-term future of communities in every corner of the State”.
Members of the community are invited to offer feedback in response to the discussion paper by 19 September 2014.
A final report on the outcomes of the consultation process will be published at the end of 2014.
