MH17 Condolence Books

Published: 4 Oct 2016

NSW Premier Mike Baird today announced condolence books would be placed at public locations across NSW so residents can pay tribute to the victims of flight MH17.

“This has been an unspeakable tragedy, devastating families and communities in our State and across the nation,” Mr Baird said.

“Our grief is compounded when we learn of the life stories of the victims and the happy circumstances which took them overseas before their lives were tragically cut short.

“The condolence books will allow the public to express their sorrow and pay tribute to the victims in a personal way.

“Books will be made available at locations across NSW including Parliament House, the Sydney Opera House and NSW Electorate Offices.

“We now know six NSW residents were on board the plane - on behalf of all people in NSW I again offer my prayers and condolences to the family and friends of each of them.

“I hope their loved ones are brought home without any further delay so funerals can be arranged. They have suffered enough pain in recent days.”

At an appropriate time the NSW Government will discuss with the families a suitable way for the condolence books to be presented.
