More than 34,000 bundles of joy delivered by Mother's Day
Baby Isidora is one of 1156 babies born at Liverpool Hospital this year who have gone home with a special gift from the NSW Government – a Baby Bundle of essential items worth $300.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian congratulated mum Rose and personally presented her with the Baby Bundle on Mother’s Day before Rose and Isidora were discharged.
Isidora was born on 10 May 2019, weighing 3.8kg, with the assistance of doctors and midwives.
Ms Berejiklian said every bub born in NSW receives a useful bundle of essential items to help the family get off to a great start.
“The NSW Government wants to support parents from the very beginning by providing handy products and information to assist with the health, development and well-being of new babies,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“We also hope the Baby Bundle will provide some financial relief at what can be an expensive time for families.”
Since January 1, a total of34,175 Baby Bundles have been distributed across NSW, including 1156 at Liverpool Hospital.
The Baby Bundle meets Australian safety standards and contains a number of items including a sleeping bag, first aid kit, play and change mats, and resources on child development and parental wellbeing.
Parents will receive the Baby Bundle before being discharged from hospital, or after registering their child with NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages in instances where the birth does not occur in a hospital.
The Baby Bundle is part of the NSW Government’s $157 million parenting package including more midwives and family health nurses, investment in testing and treatments for children’s diseases, and practical and emotional support to parents.
