NSW Govt ensuring every community gets fair share
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said she would continue to work hard for the people of NSW as her Premiership reaches its 100 day mark.
“NSW is the strongest state in the nation and our Government will ensure every community receives its fair share of local projects and extra services,” Ms Berejiklian said.
Achievements of the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government over the last 100 days include:
- Public hospital parking concessions boosted: patients who need the most support to save as much as $200 a week on public hospital parking fees
- Parliament passes Fire and Emergency Services Levy – a fairer system for funding our community's fire and emergency services, aligning NSW with the other mainland states, leaving fully-insured residential property owners better off by $47 per year on average
- An extra 1000 extra bus services for the North-West region ahead of new Metro trains arriving every four minutes
- Former Australian Army Chief Lieutenant General Ken Gillespie AC DSC CSM appointed the NSW Government’s first Regional Infrastructure Coordinator, charged with accelerating the roll-out of infrastructure across the State
- Education Infrastructure NSW announced as a new powerful delivery unit within the Department of Education to accelerate the construction and maintenance of NSW schools
- $2.6 billion infrastructure boost following successful concession of Land and Property Information’s titling and registry services to a majority Australian consortium
- Parramatta Light Rail preferred route announced for Stage 1 and $30 million to help fund a community pool for Parramatta
- A brand new underground concourse at Central Station announced, better connecting passengers to trains, buses, light rail and the new Sydney Metro
- A means-tested adoption allowance reintroduced to help families progress to adopting the child in their care and $24 million committed to the Adoptions Transformation program
- Back to basics HSC curriculum released
- Ongoing funding of $2 million each year to help establish Australia’s first young adult hospice
