State Memorial Service for Ms Margaret Fulton OAM
The family of beloved food writer Margaret Fulton OAM has accepted the NSW Government’s offer of a State Memorial Service.
Ms Fulton was the food editor for Woman’s Day and wrote more than 20 cookbooks. She was best known for her 1968 classic, The Margaret Fulton Cookbook.
Ms Fulton was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1983 in recognition of service to the media as a journalist and writer in the field of cookery. In 1998 she was named an Australian Living Treasure by the National Trust of Australia.
Details of the State Memorial Service
A State Memorial Service for Margaret Fulton OAM (6 October 1924 to 24 July 2019) will take place on Monday 9 September 2019 at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Art Gallery Road, Sydney, commencing at 4:00pm.
Relatives, friends, representatives of organisations and members of the public are welcome to attend the State Memorial Service.
Doors will open at 3:15pm. All attendees to be seated by 3:45pm sharp. Ushers will be in attendance to assist with seating.
The family has requested that, in lieu of floral tributes, donations be made to the Bargo Dingo Sanctuary.
