Moody’s maintains NSW Triple-A credit rating
Global ratings agency Moody’s has maintained NSW’s Triple-A credit rating with a stable outlook.
The Minns Labor Government’s track record of fiscal discipline, strong governance and substantial liquidity were highlighted in Moody’s opinion as key factors supporting the rating.
Moody’s also flagged the Government’s strong expense growth control and NSW’s large, diverse and growing economy.
Alongside the Moody’s update, NSW holds a Triple-A credit rating with Fitch Ratings.
S&P Global maintained NSW’s Double-A plus rating with a negative outlook in February.
Treasurer Daniel Mookhey said:
“With the world in turmoil, it’s important that NSW households are protected.
“That’s why we will do everything we can to ease cost-of-living pressures for families as we keep the Budget under control.
“This triple-A assessment from Moody’s is further confirmation that our fiscally disciplined approach is the correct one.”
