Following on from a smash hit event held in 2018, Tumut will again host the James Morrison Academy Jazz Orchestra. The JMAJO is the premier performing ensemble of the internationally acclaimed James Morrison Academy program. The 20 piece jazz big band tours Australia every year visiting major venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. This year the JMAJO will be visiting Tumut for the weekend and there are many options to choose from.

Sunset Dinner Jazz. Including canapes and complimentary drink on arrival in the Anglican Church garden overlooking the Tumut River. Followed by a two course meal and an intimate evening of jazz in the church hall. The evening will feature a locally made Stuart and Sons concert grand piano.

Workshops - Outreach is a large part of the JMAJO touring schedule and the group enjoys work shopping and performing around Australia. Students who attend the workshop have the option to perform with the big band during the afternoon performance.

Afternoon Performance - Finishing the weekend off there will be a two hour performance at the Montreal Community Theatre. Last year the big band loved playing in the 1930’s theatre and are excited to be returning.
