Kagyu Monlam is to spread the seeds of loving kindness and pure motivation, to activate their power, and hence bring about genuine peace, love, happiness and well-being in the world. 17th Gyalwang Karmapa The Kagyu Monlam is an auspicious Buddhist Prayer Festival which celebrates the interconnectedness of all sentient beings in the world. It is a great occasion when all monastic bodies together with the lay communities unite together to pray for world peace, harmony, happiness and the wellbeing of the global community. It is a three days long, elaborate and religious event filled with Tibetan Buddhist rituals, chants and customs. Twelve Tibetan Monks from various regions of the Indian subcontinent will especially travel to Australia to lead in this Great Prayer Festival. A diverse program of chants, prayers, meditation, blessing ceremony, film, relic exhibition, Tibetan butter sculpture and multicultural performances awaits all visitors!
