Broken Hill Community Markets are held once a month on the second Saturday from 8am or 9am to 1pm, March to November each year. In December they hold a Twilight Market from 5pm to 8.30pm after the Christmas Pageant. The Markets offer a pleasant and relaxing shopping experience with friendly people and enjoyable music. They have tables and chairs to eat their wonderful food at, and to sit down and relax. Some of their produce is locally grown. You must try the quandong (native peach) cakes, jams, sauces, pies and ice cream! Their regular stallholders offer Asian food, barbecue, homemade cakes including dietary varieties, handmade chocolates, honey, eggs, dried fruits, doughnuts, homemade jams and preserves, French food, arts, crafts, jewellery, old wares, collectibles, minerals and music by 2DRYFM Community Radio. Other occasional stalls offer Menindee fruit and vegetables, second hand clothes, children's clothing, handmade babies' items, ribbons and bows, dog jackets, quandong sauces, and more. How to get there: The Broken Hill Community Markets are held in the centre of town, just a short walk from Argent Street, at the Centre for Community in Beryl Street on the edge of Sturt Park and opposite Aruma Lodge.
