Classical Guitar Recital by Dennis van Rooyen in the Sisters' Chapel

Dennis van Rooyen is a classical guitar student at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He is studying under the guidance of well known classical guitarist Vladimir Gorbach. Dennis holds an Associate Trinity College Diploma ( ATCL) in guitar performance, since 2013. He twice won solo classical guitar competitions in the Sydney Eisteddfod, besides numerous podium results and placed as a finalist in the Melbourne Guitar Foundation competition in 2015. The Program includes works by composers Rodrigo, Piazzolla, Ginastera and Dyens and will last for around one and a half hour with a short interval. A guest saxophonist will share the stage with Dennis during the second half of the program. Dennis plays a 2005 guitar, handcrafted by Australian luthier Simon Marty. The beautiful gardens surrounding the Chapel will be open from 1pm, please bring your own picnic for lunch and afternoon tea. Tables and chairs will be set out in the shade of the verandas, but you are also welcome to bring picnic blankets for a relaxed afternoon. Please linger a while after the recital, as Dennis, a Dungog resident, would like to meet you.
