Fresh from a performance in Carnegie Hall, Newcastle's beloved Waratah Girls’ Choir performs a concert of music inspired by travel and discovery, in their Newcastle Music Festival debut.

The word Compass conveys the idea of a journey, guidance, travel, discovery - all of those things. They hope that their audience will come away from the concert having been transported to somewhere lovely” either by memories of the past, delighting in the now, or dreaming of the future.

Now in its fourth decade, Waratah Girls’ Choir is recognised as one of Australia’s leading female choirs, having achieved local, national and international acclaim. From humble beginnings, the choir has become one of the most renowned choral groups Australia has to offer.
