The Doug Moran National Portrait Prize was established in 1988 to celebrate Australia’s bi-centenary. Since then it has grown to become one of this country’s most prestigious art prizes with the largest prize money of any art competition in Australia. The prize attracts not only the cream of Australian portraiture artists but encourages artists at all stages of their careers to enter. Visit historic Juniper Hall to see the exhibition of winner and finalists' portrait paintings of 2018. Meet the artists at one of the free Sunday afternoon artist talks followed by a complimentary drink in the garden at Juniper Hall - visit the Moran Arts Foundation website for details. To celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, the 2018 exhibition will not only feature this year's finalists but also a selection of works from the Moran collection. This is a one off opportunity to see winning artworks from past years of the Moran Prize including some of Australia's most acclaimed artists such as Lesley Rice, Ben Quilty and Prudence Flint to name a few.
