This event is being held as an introduction to the Australian Heritage Festival.

It will be a celebration of Port Macquarie's Heritage and will be the venue for the Official Opening of the heritage festival in the Port Macquarie - Hastings region by Mayor Peta Pinson. Following this will be a presentation by members of the local combined Museums and Heritage Groups on the history of their organisation.

The Official Opening of the Archive Storage Container will take place. Leslie Williams, the local State Member will open the facility, that was constructed using a State Government Grant.

It will be named the Victor Payne Centre after a fifth generation descendant of George Francis.
Visitors to Douglas Vale can look forward to not only ceremony,stalls,displays, tours, food and wine but also some wonderful musical entertainment.
All this for only a gold coin donation!
