Dust By Amber Haines and Kyle Page. Take a deep and daring dive into a mesmerising meditation on civilisation. Through an intoxicating blend of movement, music and architectural design, Dust explores the impact of human inheritance – what they receive from previous generations and what they in turn leave the next. Never before seen in Wollongong, Dancenorth is the hottest new name in Australian dance. Acclaimed for an unmistakable visual style that pushes its dancers to prodigious virtuosity, Dancenorth has amassed a swathe of Helpmann Awards and was the 2017 recipient of the prestigious Sidney Myer Performing Arts Group Award. Fresh from its triumphant premiere at the 2018 Brisbane Festival, Dancenorth’s newest work, co-commissioned by Merrigong Theatre Company, features music by Canada’s Jessica Moss (Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra) and an extraordinary, interactive architecturally-designed set by the award-winning Liminal Spaces. Dust is a stunning, deeply moving, evocative performance that will stay with you long after you’ve seen it.
