Earth Hour Campbelltown
1 Art Gallery Road, Campbelltown, NSW, 2560, Australia
24th March 2018
Come along and celebrate the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment, and experience Earth Hour with the local community, including Aboriginal descendants of those who have been living sustainably from this land for thousands of years. Following the success of last year’s local Earth Hour event, this year will be even bigger, with an exciting range of free activities for all ages. ‘Caring for the future’ will take everyone on a journey into traditional and contemporary ways of connecting with the natural environment through hands-on and creative workshops delivered by local artists and Aboriginal elders. The scene will be set with dance, storytelling, hands-on artistic workshops and displays, before participants are invited to take a comfy seat around a fire pit, under a starry sky, to experience traditional Dreamtime stories and dance performances by local Aboriginal people during Earth Hour from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. Campbelltown’s ‘Caring for the future’ event is one of many initiatives happening around the globe to celebrate a brighter and more sustainable future, becoming part of an interconnected global community, committed to creating a sustainable world. Come along and bring the family. Fun for all ages.
