The annual Global Rhythms Music Festival is a full day of diverse world music where Reggae, R and B, Latin, Blues, Afrobeats, ‘chainsaw’ Folk, Rap and Hip Hop performers and DJs collide in a kaleidoscope of sound, rhythm and soul stirring beats. A main event in the Sydney Fringe Festival, fun lovers of all ages gather for this family-friendly outdoor celebration on the grass verges of Glebe’s scenic Bicentennial Park waterfront. Against the quintessentially Sydney backdrop, festival-goers will hear some of the country’s most popular live performers - King Tide, Afromama, The Strides with Afro Moses, the Crooked Fiddle Band, Alice Terry, San Lazaro and the Afrobrasiliana Soundsystem - in a show to remember. Fabulous food is a draw card of Global Rhythms and the star attraction is the Middle Eastern Markets and their authentic home cooked treats that go beyond gozleme and falafel. Plus, there’s a whole raft of other international food and drink stalls to suit every taste. The Festival is a great day out for kids while for budding instrumentalists there is a chance to try their skills at the Hang Drum/Handpan Workshop.
