High Country Handmade Showcase
123 Grey Street, Glen Innes, NSW, 2370, Australia
2nd December 2018 to 3rd March 2019
Each season in the New England high country brings a distinct new energy, and the region's handmade hub - The Makers Shed at Glen Innes - celebrates the change on the first Sunday of summer, autumn, winter and spring! Resident Makers - silversmith Richard Moon and wordsmith Michael Burge - throw open the gate to their sunny yard and the doors of The Makers Shed for visitors to experience artisans in action from across the New England region; and participate by making something unique under skilled supervision. Sign up for a three-hour class with Richard Moon; hear artists and authors talk about their work, and select from a range of high-quality hand-crafted gifts, homewares and wearable art (follow @TheMakersShedGlenInnes on Facebook for announcements about participating artisans). Their Place Wine and Espresso Bar of Tenterfield parks their gourmet coffee van in the yard with a variety of brunch and lunch options, and there's live music from 11am! The Makers Shed is a place for business-artisans creating and showcasing their work, handmade and independent products, unique jewellery, art and books. Visitors can also sign up for regular workshops!
