Human Rights Day
George Street, Sydney, NSW, 2000, Australia
No upcoming dates
Human Rights Watch observes Human Rights Day each year, sending a message of hope by lighting in blue the Empire State Building in New York and the CN Tower in Toronto. This year Australia will join this global observation for the first time by lighting the Sydney Opera House blue. Join them at the Museum of Contemporary Art for a reception with striking views over the harbour, as they recognise the importance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the commitment to protect and defend human rights worldwide. Attendees will hear from The Honourable Michael Kirby as well as Director of Human Rights Watch Australia Elaine Pearson, followed by a special performance from Australian singer Lenka.
