One of Australia’s most exhibited artists – Wayne Quilliam – will bring large-scale digital art to Darling Quarter in a visual representation of the NAIDOC aim: Let’s work together for a shared future. The installation comprises 16 large-scale digital artworks curated by aMBUSH Gallery.
In conjunction with Wayne’s exhibition, free family-friendly workshops will take place during NAIDOC Week.
Held in the foyer of the Monkey Baa Theatre and in partnership with the local Koomurri Aboriginal Incursions, the workshops will include:
Didgeridoo Show – traditional and contemporary solo didgeridoo performance.
Face Painting – Indigenous tutor will have traditional ochre paint from which they will paint the children’s faces.
Song and Dance – Indigenous tutor will entertain with some traditional dance moves and encourage all children to participate.
Aboriginal Art – Indigenous tutor will teach the children basic Aboriginal symbols, which they will paint on a large canvas guided by the tutor.
Storytelling – Dreamtime stories from the past will be told with gusto and expression to enthral the children.
